What Is It?
When a patient has had a tooth or several teeth missing, having implants is a common option. A tooth implant is applied, usually by an oral surgeon, directly into the bone to allow crown placement. After the implant has been inserted, the patient may wear a temporary partial denture while it heals. Once a few months have passed, the crown may be safely fitted onto the implant.
How Does It Benefit You?
The implant fuses with your jaw to allow a solid feeling when you speak, bite and chew. If you are young and would prefer a more permanent solution to replacing your tooth, this may be a technique to consider.
